October's edition of Direction Magazine is out
In a world full of books, and words, competing for attention, I thank God that we can come afresh to God's timeless words - communicated in the real language of real people. His Word is as life-giving to us now as it was then to a shepherd song writing king.
The Psalms are initmate, raw and real. Again and again the Psalmist pour out their hearts in varying cries of anguish, sorrow and fear, with songs of joy, deliverance and triumph.
The chief Psalmist and pursuer of God's loving and living presence, David's voice is heard above them all. Sometimes he seems to cling to God's Word like a drowning man to life raft, other times he searches and longs like a starving man for food and water. As he does so, he doesn't only receive strangth, provision and power, but he comes to the point of worship - overcome by God's glory and limitless live.
In the latest issue of Direction Magazine, we hear from RT Kendell, who looks at a new meaning behind the parable of the ten virgins, Gordon Allen asks us if as believers are battle ready, and Olivia Watkinson urges Elim churches to join a month-long prayer initiative. All this plus much, much more all in the latest issue of Direction Magazine!
